Vascular Disease Cell Therapy


 In recent years, the medical industry has pursued the application of stem cells in treating many different diseases. Stem cells is a population of cells which have potential to indefinitely expand, self-renew, and differentiate into several specific types of cells. The idea of being able to regulate the body’s regenerative processes is attractive to medical professionals and patients alike, as a successful treatment could potentially mean a much more favorable outcome for the patients if the current standard of care for a given illness is to only stall disease progression. Vascular diseases are major causes of morbidity and mortality in developed countries and are presently incurable. 

 For vascular disease stem cell therapy, the goal beyond, for example, elimination of leg amputations is to extend lifespan and improve functionality and quality of life. While an effective treatment for vascular disease remains elusive, newer interventions using cell therapy are promising. Regenerative vascular cell therapy has the potential to reverse the progression of vascular disease, offering patients the ability to return to their baseline quality of life.
